Urban Development Planning of TAM Aids Highly Urbanized Cities in Competitiveness

The National Competitive Council has recently released the Rankings of Highly Urbanized Cities of 2022 in the latest Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index (CMCI). This ranking, which was recently published in an article on BusinessWorld online, is based on five pillars: Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure, Resiliency and Innovation.

Included in the top 15 are the cities of Pasay (ranking 3rd), Makati (6th) and Pasig (11th) in Metro Manila and the cities of Iloilo (7th) and Bacolod (9th) in Western Visayas.

TAM Planners Co. was involved in the Master Planning for Sustainable Urban Infrastructure Development of Metro Iloilo and Metro Bacolod in 2019, under the Joint Venture with University of the Philippines Planning and Development Research Foundation, Inc. (UP PLANADES) and Philkoei International, Inc. (PKII). The firm also assisted in the preparation of the 2016 Pasig City Comprehensive Land and Water Use Plan (CLWUP) and Zoning Ordinance (ZO); the Review of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP), Zoning Ordinance (ZO), Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP), Local Development Investment Program (LDIP) and Executive Legislative Agenda (ELA) of the City of Makati in 2018, in a joint venture with Pacific Rim Innovation & Management Exponents, Inc. (PRIMEX) and the Makati Billboard and Signage Master Plan in 2013.

Currently, TAM is involved in the Updating of Pasay City 2023-34 Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) and Sectoral Studies, the Amendments to the 2016 Zoning Ordinance (ZO), the 2023-28 Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) and the 2023-25 Local Development Investment Program (LDIP), awarded in the midyear of 2022. TAM has also been actively involved in the 2003 and 2016 editions of the city’s development plans.
