Description | The City of Makati through its Honorable Mayor Junjun Binay commissioned TAM Planners Co. to prepare its first ever Billboard and Signage Master Plan. The objective of the project was to formulate a master plan that would address the size, location and other design parameters of billboards and signage. The master plan would serve as an effective guide for the city government in the proper implementation of the rules and regulations governing billboards and sign panels. |
Services Provided | TAM Planners conducted a GIS-based survey of all existing billboards in the City. The survey included data on size, type of support frame and location/position within building or vacant property. The survey would provide the basis for determining non-conforming billboards to the formulated rules and regulations. “No billboard zones” were identified and restrictions to size, location and positioning were developed in zones where billboards would be allowed. A zoning ordinance-based signage regulation was developed wherein signage size, shape, location/position within building or property where pre-determined in accordance with allowable uses per building occupancy type. |
