Description

TAM Principal Michael V. Tomeldan was invited to join a UNWTO international team of consultants tasked to prepare the Shandong Coastal Tourism Development Plan for the Shandong Provincial Tourism Administration. The Shandong Coastal Tourism Development Plan included detailed Tourism Development Plans for four pilot areas in four different cities in Shandong Province, China. The four pilot areas are Yangkou in Laoshan District, Qingdao City; Sun City in Rizhao City; an Urban Beach in Haiyang City; and Swan Lake in Rongcheng City.

Services Provided

M.V. Tomeldan was the urban designer and resort planner for the Shandong Coastal Tourism Development Plan Project. Among his tasks were to analyze maps and data pertaining to the four pilot areas, inspect the four pilot areas, formulate Conceptual Tourism Development Plans for the four pilot areas, and prepare schematic designs for proposed resorts, hotels, and urban design details. Development Guidelines were also prepared to guide plan implementation and future development in the four pilot areas.
